What is Smishing
Smishing is a phishing assault that involves a text message. It’s a form of attack that will try to trick you into giving certain information like a security code or password.
How to protect
Never reply directly to text messages for verification and avoid clicking links from unexpected messages.
If you are closing a reservation, and you expect to receive a message. But if you receive a message out of the blue that also requires you any interaction, then be extremely vigilant.
Goole will never require from you a message back, nor a bank will never ask details via SMS.
Never reply to text messages from people you don’t know, even if the sender details show Google, Bank name, etc.
Such names can be easily spoofed.
